www.bellhooksinstitute.com/blog/2016/5/9/moving-beyond-painAnd even though she raises some interesting points I'm sure there are plenty of fleahive social media feminists/womanists who want to "read" ms.hooks and "drag her" even though she's been turning these types of topics over in her mind before most of them were born. Being older doesn't automatically make her right. But the fact that she's been observing and analyzing the evolution (or devolution) of pop culture and feminism for decades shouldn't be dismissed just because she's talking about their fave and they're not happy about it, which is what I imagine most of the responses and think pieces will really boil down to. Some of these same people who whooped, hollered, and shouted "Yaaaassss, queen!" when Beyodel called herself a feminist are the same ones who dismiss critiques and commentary from actual feminists.
