So I notice that ever since she dropped her dad, started managing herself, and became a tabloid fixture fameho, a lot of the biggest moments in her career have also come with and been derailed by some mess. i thought it would be interesting to take a look at that. I might not be completely right in the chronological order.
*Did a new album under her own management called 4. It flopped.
*Did first pregnancy. She was caught at faking it and was exposed. She knows a lot of people think she faked it, she said that in her documentary. Her explanation was interesting, she said she can't believe people would think she is so vain to fake a pregnancy. People weren't in particular focused on her vanity when they caught the fakery. She was the one who connected it to vanity in defending herself. People were more focused on the ridiculousness and fraud. That she inadvertently revealed she faked it out of vanity is interesting.
*Super bowl. Need i say anything? It is considered a highlight in a career. Hers was immediately derailed by the ugly pics fiasco, not to mention people noticed she had gotten another nose job. Her ugly pics were widely seen and turned into memes. What's more, the pics wouldn't have gone viral if she hadn't drawn attention to them. That must have burned.
* singing at presidential event. She was caught lip syncing that and it was something of a scandal. Even BBC covered it in their program, which exposed the incident to people who wouldn't otherwise follow/care about/know her.
* went to met gala. That is for some reason considered a big deal event. Did a stunt at the met gala where she dropped her ring and jay z got down on his knees and put it on her finger. Most likely rehearsed and some to provide pics to tabloids for puns and stories. It was derailed by leaked footage of elevator fight, which showed on a wide scale that her family is not perfect like she says. The following instagram damage control pics were ridiculed for looking so obvious, fake and forced.
* Child blue ivy was widely said to look just like jay z and called ugly online when taken to red carpet.
*lemonade's biggest impact was a few days of tabloid gossip about who her husband F'ed on the side. #embarrassing. The singles flopped and disappeared. Album sold as much as 4 did, which is a flop.
*next super bowl performance was controversial and resulted in a massive backlash.
*second pregnancy with the twins. The announcement pics were considered tacky. The following endless stream of pics on instagram were considered tacky, too much, overexposed with a common sentiment being okay we get it u are pregnant for real this time (thus getting exposed on her intentions) and wow she is the first pregnant woman ever.
There's more instances like her documentary receiving mostly negative reviews and considered narcissistic, met gala dressed mocked for looking like diseased skin, etc.
