This is the 2nd story from the previous post I wrote.
A few years ago I remember learning that Tina and Mathew used to despise Jay Z when he and Beyonce first got serious, for several reasons. They felt he was too old for her, a thug of sorts and they didn't want her getting involved with anyone while she was still trying to become a big star, because she was prepping herself to be a sex symbol. From working with Beyonce, Jay Z could tell that she was a country girl, unexposed to much in life, "green", if you will and he liked that about her. This is one of the reasons he's always liked younger women...he has to be in control and feels that younger women are weak minded and more apt to do what he wants. Jay Z felt as though he had to train Beyonce, and aside from being verbally and emotionally abusive, he also became physically abusive with her as well. I'm not talking about a push, or a choke, I mean coming across her jaw as if he was hitting a man. Beyonce didn't tell a soul that Jay Z was abusing her because she feared her family would tell her to leave him and she'd fallen deep in love with him. But, a mother always knows when something is wrong and one day Tina questioned Beyonce and she just broke down to her and admitted the abuse. Tina told Beyonce that part of being a lady is understanding your man and being there for him to make him a better man; basically, she told Beyonce that what Jay Z was doing happens to everyone. But, Mathew, refusing to share the same sentiment, told Jay Z that if he ever laid a finger on Beyonce again he'd kill him...shoot him dead. Jay Z, not nearly as hard as he's portrayed himself to be, cowered like a baby, and vowed that he would never touch her again...he knew Mathew meant business.
After that, Jay never hit Bey again, though the verbal and emotional abuse continued. He's gotten much better over the years now and for the most part treats Bey as his equal but in his eyes she had to earn her place, but she also forced him to realize that he didn't just have it like that because she left him a few times along the way to prove to him she wasn't playing...but she'd always come back when he came bawling and begging like a baby. But he realized if she ever did leave for good he'd never find better so now he appreciates her the way she's always wanted to be appreciated. I was wondering if anyone else out there is familiar with this tea or knows any details to add to this story? Sip at your own pleasure, but I will say that this tea came from one of the Beyince siblings, and I'll leave it at that
