Im sure we've all seen the article, Good on him for acknowledging the obvious Beyonce certainly internalized the message, ms.yellow bone it and her clinging to blonde, her "good" hair talk
And people kill me trying to say tina isnt and sbe taught kelly to love her skin, im sure she did, as long as the hierarchy was understood
This color struck family and seeds have brought that mess to the mainstream and reigniting colorism, ie.team.lightskin etc...
I think he is just priming the pump for his brown skin kids that are coming up, and possibly being catty and attention whoring, the whole.family is out here for a check
Whatever the motive another chink in the socalled perfect family, they are a mess

Even if Mathew didn't give this interview, it was all so very out there already and obvious for anyone to have picked up on. The proof of that was in how people were hashtagging things like Team Lightskin, Team Darkskin, the talks of skin bleaching or tanning. The attitude of... I'm not exactly black..I'm Creole. Oh wait, is there an award or money to gain?...Okay, then I'm black, this time. Then there's Kelly crying because she hated her complexion and felt inferior. Then tells us that Tina made her proud of her skin tone. Then there's Solange speaking about her mother's side of the family being color struck. -With this family, how could anyone have missed this, over looked this, ignored this and not attach this to this family. Hell, even white people began to give their two cents about the obvious.
My thing is...(with the exception of Michael Jackson, who claimed to have had vitiligo.) Yet, in my lifetime, I have never encountered something so blatantly obvious attached to any celebrity, like it's been attached to this family. It's been the topic of many internet wars, sadly separating black people. Having them spew out vile hatred towards one another, when realistically this means nothing to the oppressors. They see black. Just like in slavery. A house slave and a field slave had more in common than not. THEY WERE STILL BOTH SLAVES. Still being raped, beatened and treated badly. Both eating scaps from Massa's table. If I had to pick which slave I wanted to be, my answer would be simple. I'd like to be FREE! Me being a person from the deep South, I have many stories with pictures included that have been shared with me from all sides and angels. Including an Aunt to was murdered when her white husband found out she was black.
Sure we've heard of some past celebs who dealt with colorism, but not on the level the Knowles/Carters have brought to the surface. Quiet as kept, Baba Dick Gregory once said that Michael had purposely been given Vitiligo as a way to control him. SMH. Maybe someone here could tell me if they know of any celebrities on the level of stardom as this family has, that also has such a huge attachment to their celebrity as these people.

It is written in Michael's death certificate after autopsy by doctors that he had vitiligo so it's not a claim... it's a rare disorder influenced by genetic and his grandfather had it! I dunno how you induce the problem... As for Matthew you're right and it was super obvious but the confirmation is good, Tina is definitely color struck and she definitely passed it on to bey, who doesn't try to hide it!!

The science the lay-man knows is nothing close to the science that is being used behind the scenes today and for many, many yrs. Such as... if they can control the weather, purposely give people certain diseases, design babies, decide the gender, change the gender, create artificial wombs that actually work, create clones, etc...then you cannot take the word of such evil doers of this world. But of course MJ wouldn't publicly admit to any of that. He became tired of playing the game. So what happened when he did?
These two will eventually meet the same fate, one way or another, even though they seem to be willing participants. The life span of a puppet varies.

"Sure we've heard of some past celebs who dealt with colorism, but not on the level the Knowles/Carters have brought to the surface" ................................................................ No disrespect but~The Knowles are not the first who dealt with/suffer from colorism. You mentioned the field slave and house slave...I see it all around me...still...the Knowels are not the problem, they are a reflection of a problem that already exists..Yes they have a responsibility to teach the world otherwise but how could they when they are so week ,like many of us...For example,My own sister dated only white men because she wanted light babies with good hair...The self-hate in the black community is still fresh ,but hidden....

Hi @heidi, No the Knowles are not the first (ever) to deal with colorism. I know for black people in America, (thanks to, Massa) it's been since the awful days of slavery. However...there have been many black celebs IN THE INDUSTRY, throughout the centuries...be it in film, dance, music, etc... There are many documents of this being so, but IMHO never has this thing with colorism been so attached to a celebrity or a celebrity family, than it has been attached to this family. Whether it's practicing it, believing in it, using it positively or negatively. Mathew was right in his assessment and his very own experience, admitting to how he and his family gained some of their success, by implementing this system. I've even heard of certain celebs rumored to be "color struck", but then the rumor passes and no one really speaks on it anymore. But the Knowles family??? This type of conversation is rarely not mentioned when they are mentioned. How could anyone forget all those awful names being thrown back and forth between people who claimed to be non-European. Ugly people with beautiful complexions.
Community wise...I could speak on this just as much, if not more..as the next person of color can. But I'm only giving my opinion about celebrities, what Mat said and how I feel about it, but mostly how he and his family being so obviously attached to colorism. I can't tell you how many European sites that I've seen that have been reporting this lately. SMH. The Elders used to say, "Keep ya family business in your own house, that way ya won't let the Devil see your weakness then attack." Oh, Well...so much for that saying, huh? LOL. Peace.
