Caught Stealing Streaming Numbers/Money!!!

So I had a very interesting conversation with a friend of mine who works for a boutique PR Firm in NYC. They specialize in social media influencers and she was breaking down her conspiracy as to why labels like Atlantic are super interested in artist such as Danielle Bregoli (Cash Me Outside) who received an advance of 1 million dollars from Atlantic Records. She was not able to tell me exactly how much Cardios advance was (she doesn't have actual knowledge of the amount) but she believes it is definitely upwards of 3-5 million dollars. Anywho, these are the main points of her conspiracy:

Record labels are intentionally signing these influencers because they have a massive audience for advertising, yet many of them never hire professional teams or publicist to reach their full potential as far as branding and making money/endorsements.

These influencers often time never have an attorney on retainer that they actually consult with. This makes them an easy mark for predatory practices.
All of the influencers are being given full multiple rights deals (aka 360 deals) and yes, Cardio is under a 360 deal.

However, what many influencers don't realize is that they are essentially signing away the rights to their original platform (IG, Snapchat, etc) because any endorsements secured via the record label are automatically included under the umbrella of the 360 deal.

The labels are even renegotiating the terms of their existing contracts and endorsements which further makes them entitled to those preexisting contracts as well.

Once record labels sign influencers to the 360 deals they are able to immediately get them endorsements and appearances based off of their social media impact alone. The record labels already have relationships with many huge companies and media outlets so connecting their influencer artist with these connections is seamless.
She referenced Cardios relationship with Lyft, Amazon, Steve Madden, Bentley, and points that all those endorsements were directly secured via Atlantic Records.

Says that record labels are taking advantage of the new environment of streaming and how that leads to many accolades just being handed out. This is why artist are releasing albums with 15-20+ songs because the streams are adding up to platinum overnight. There is no money in selling records anymore, the real revenue comes from touring and endorsements. However the accolades help legitimize the influencers as "artist".

She insist that labels are paying for streams (which has already been discussed at length here and on many other social platforms)
Also just something I found interesting but artist and record labels make no revenue from radio play.

Now for the sabotaging of the influencers (I'm going to be intentionally vague with some information to protect the identity of my girl):
My friend says that a former big name YouTuber (think Jak3Paul big) decided to leave their firm and sign a 360 deal with a record label. This was prior to CardioB's huge success.

The client ended up returning to her firm less than a year later complaining that his advance (under 500k) had already been repaid but his income was taking a huge hit because the record label was now taking almost 50% of his future earnings. That coupled along with other operating and management expenses was leaving him with an income of less than 20%.

The client negotiated to buy himself out of the contract and the record label wanted upwards of $3,000,000 because his contract was valued so incredibly high based off the future value of his social media platforms alone!

The influencer is now stuck in the contract, making barely any money and is not making any music. The record label is entitled to any future endeavors including all revenue coming from his platforms, interviews, TV and Movie appearances, meet and greets, basically anything short of the artist getting a real 9-5 job.
The influencer is making pennies on the dollar but has no choice but to keep working for the label as the label is pretty much the only outlet securing endorsements and deals for the influencer.

Why she thinks Atlantic is intentionally sabotaging Cardio:

The record label has not provided Cardio with any of the traditional training and prepping that artist are given. Especially artist supposedly touted to be the next big thing.
It does not seem that they have forced Cardio to forfeit creative control of her career. Her publicist, management team, and actual music creative process still lies within her bounds.
They allowed Cardio to sign with QC for management and they founders of QC have a history of predatory practices when dealing with artist. However they work their artist like dogs touring and doing shows so it's actually a win for the record label.
M1goz and QC helped Cardio produce her albums thus the success amongst the ratchet trap demographic
A tidbit about QC: the label has big names on their roster such as lil b@by, m1g0z, lil yacthboat, etc. Everything these artist have (clothes, jewelry, cars, homes) all pretty much come from QC. Apparently the founders of QC were involved with the inception of ATL artist such as Gucc1mane, r0ck00, and J33zy so they do have long money and major influence in Atlanta.
The end game is to let influencer artist sabotage their professional image and alienate other professional prospects thus leaving them dependent on the record labels to secure future deals and streams of revenue.
