That's impressive. The element of surprise worked for her big time. It is a mediocre album that would have flopped if she released it the traditional way. From what I've heard and am reading, there are about 2 or 3 good songs on the album, and only one potential single. Basically, a typical Beyonce album of 2 good songs and the rest is filler. Nothing on here is gonna get her a number one song, so it'll be another year of her not having any hits.
Her doing "no promo" and just dropping the album before any critics or fans could hear it and realize the songs are total crap was savvy.
But what's going to be interesting will be the final sales. I think everyone who wants it has bought it. When the album is releases officially, I seriously doubt she's gonna get another 500,000 sales. First off,her fan base is not that big. Secondly, if you really want to hear the album and see the videos, they're already all over the internet for free now. I think when it all comes down to it, the numbers for this album will look similar to "4". That's the downside of this savvy strategy. It's that you get all your sales at once and then it quickly dies out. Why? Because there's no more anticipation to carry the album throughout the year. There will be no video releases to help push the album on the public and the idea of releasing a single won't even matter because everyone already bought all the songs the moment the album dropped.
So she's getting her shine and everyone's kissing her behind right now. But it's gonna be very interesting when this album doesn't do much better than the last one.

I'm not going to lie I forgot about her album all together it just seem like it came and went. Now I'm ready for Rihanna and Shakira's song. Also the album is release everywhere all ready so I doubt that she will get anymore money. This Simpleton took the jay route because she didn't trust her fans to buy the album sad.

No one is talking about it anymore. Other than ghetto gossip blogs and the major music blogs, no one's talking about it anymore. She wasn't even trending on twitter a day after it was released. This album won't grow because there's no room to grow. Everything's already been released.

I'll just wait to see how many copies this sells in the long run. Her last album only sold 1.4 million in the U.S. and 3 million worldwide (which is sad considering her first album sold like 10 million in the U.S. alone, I think). I'm just not understanding the hype. The songs are just "OK," and technically she's been promoting this album and herself all year long (Superbowl, inauguration, HBO documentary, Oprah interview, releasing photos of her on her video sets, multiple magazine covers, etc.), so I don't see how this album was a "surprise." But her super fans will fall for anything I guess. Like I said, wait to see how many copies this album sells altogether.

^^^ Yep. That's a boldfaced lie if ever I saw one. I doubt there are 500 000 people on earth who want to buy that entire album. We know how 'Yawnce does. I think the last time she was honest about her sales was with her first album. Her sales have steadily declined since. Falling star. Considering that trajectory and the fact that she did not bring anything new at all I doubt this sold better than 4.

If you go on TMZ there's this poll called stars and scars you be the judge. Where they ask people to vote on her new Album. Out of total vote 92,114, 73% of them people said her album is just ok, while the other 27% thought the album was awesome. It just goes to show you this album is hype and after that the hype is over with. Sad but true!

If she doesn't flop I'm going to have a nervous breakdown, I hope those sales figures are inflated Excuse me hun, but I'm confused. If she DOESN'T flop right? Well if she DOESN'T flop...then it shouldn't even affect you in any type of way. You letting Beyonce give you a nervous break down? Nah, it's never been that serious. Now if you mean if she DOES flop and you're going to have a nervous break down.....eh? But I'm pretty sure I was right the first time, right?

Oh my God. Why are you guys hating on the King? She's fucking successful and you're not! Why are y'all so damn pressed? You guy's have no life other than hating on Beyonce's perfect career, marriage and life! You guys must be miserable and lonely!
LMFAO. Just kidding. But really though...who gives a flying fuck? Ugh, I don't know what the hell is wrong with this generation but they seem to be STUCK on how much an artist sells. Shit, MC Hammer sold millions and his ass went broke and is mostly remembered as a one hit wonder and has no significance in the Hip Hop community whatsoever. Those numbers aren't a stretch for any artist, but they are when it comes to Beyonce. Seems like she's trying to beat out JT and Taylor Swift for how much they sold in one week. I bet tomorrow it's about to be 850,000. Beyonce do better. She won't even make half of that money back. First, Rihanna has her #13th number one single. Then she releases an unknown album and now it sold 500,000 in 48 hours? Nah, no thank you. First week sales don't mean shit with artist these days, but those overtime sales do though. I won't even be surprised if she inflates her sales to almost Adele's numbers. But then again, Idgaf about her numbers either. I do, congratulate her for shitting on these artist with just one album though. I should take a listen to that album. Anyways, Beyonce isn't one ounce of shit, nor will ever be. Sorry guy's excuse my cursing. I'm in one of those moods right now, lol.

We know by now how she works. fudging numbers.buying her own records. The record lable is probably holding back on the marketing budget so that they can use it to buy millions of her albums. I'll be surprised if the real numbers are anything close to 3 million. There's just no demand.

EXACTLY. After Lipsynchgate and the SuperBowl all of her shenanigans were a way to build anticipation for an album that most people wouldn't have given 2 sneezes about if she released it when she was supposed to. IIRC that $50 million deal Pepsi worked out with Beyaphomet was because they support her "artistry" or some such nonsense, which gave me the impression that A LOT (possibly most) of the backing for this album would be coming from them and not from her label. Some people are praising her non-marketing "strategy" because it puts her in a position to pocket a bigger chunk of album sales but if what I recall about that deal is correct then Pepsi would have been spending/recouping promotional costs her label wouldn't factor into it very much. Also, depending on how that money was budgeted there may not have been anything left to dump into promotion- especially because half of the 'album' is music videos. I know I'm not the only one who noticed the headlines on gossip blogs about Bey filming scenes for videos at cheap locations, (e.g., an old warehouse), filming on open 'sets' (e.g., an amusement park with regular customers), or dancing with her fans at XYZ location (an easy way to get free extras for a music video). These things all fit in with the "regular chick" image she's trying to portray but they're also ways to stretch a production budget. Once the initial hoopla dies down I wouldn't be surprised if it came out that Bey and her folks burned through that Pepsi money before they could come up with a more traditional marketing plan. As for the supposed sales numbers for the first 48 hours: I don't have any specific reason to believe that they're false but knowing how much trickery and deception is part of mainstream music I don't have a reason to believe they're totally real either. Would I be surprised if it came out that the numbers were fudged? No, but if they weren't fudged it's no skin off my nose.

So Bey releases Bday Anthology Part 2 and its considered groundbreaking, more like desperation, so sad that an artist has to rely on visuals to sell their so called art and music
She waited all year so all the other female artists to release their albums and waited for a time where there are no big releases to drop her wack album, pathetic, always cheating
Cant stand her fans calling this groundbreaking and innotive
FAIL, the KING OF POP MJ released the fiest music anthology with Moonwalker, which featured videos intwined together, Speed Demon, Leave Me Alone, Smooth Criminal
Then Janet Jackson relesed the Rythym Nation Short film for her Ryhymn
Janet so UNDERRATED AND UNDERAPPRECAITED
Recent video anthology was by 50 Cent back in 2005 to promote his second album Jennifer Lopes had one to promote her Spanish album, which was actually a mini series And Kanye,
Its so sickening how she and her team , steal copy, paste and hype everything and take credit for everything
