Seems like even some of her fans are not afraid to call her out. A blogger posted an article expressing her disgust at the "Anna Mae" reference in their song "Drunk in Love". I thought myself the lyrics were so dumb I didn't even paid attention to this blatant and insulting reference. Here are the lyrics: “I am Ike Turner…Baby know I don’t play. Now eat the cake, Anna Mae. Said Eat the Cake, Anna Mae" This is a line from the Tina Turner biopic, in a scene were Tina is beaten by Ike after she refuses to eat a cake. I post the article here, you should read it. Give me your thoughts. www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity-news/beyonce-drunk-love-jay-zs-2939249

Jay Z disrespects eveyone. it can only be expected from camels. They are known to spit vile stuff. Beyonce has no mind and even if she did, has nor backbone either and wouldn't have been able to tell Jay to leave that line out. Knowing Bey she probably doesn't even know where it's from.

I didn't notice that line at first listen. Maybe because English is my third language, I don't know. But this is inappropriate knowing what hell and pain Tina Turner went through. And Beyonce is said to be a huge Tina Turner fan, how could she even allow this?

So why have Jay Z disrespect her like that? Was it disrespect?Because he doesn't care. Yes. And he still doesn't care.

And Beyonce is said to be a huge Tina Turner fan, how could she even allow this? Listen, English is my first language and I can barely use it, lol. Seriously, after Rick Ross, that blurred lines song and all others that disrespect women. I don’t know what to think. It’s still the public that are buying despite the disrespect. So I don’t know if this should shock us, apart from it being a reference being made in a Beyonce song about a person she has claimed to idolize.

If Shawn Carter is willing to casually name-check the POTUS in a rap verse to preen his profile during a stunt involving Cuba and openly disrespect a recognized civil rights leader in Harry Belafonte in the haze of tensions swirling around the acquittal of a racist teen-killer (while also using the dead teen for self-promotion), trust, Tina Turner (and what his reference represents) ain't safe or sacred.
As for Beyoncé being a fan of Tina Turner, I say, replace "fan" with "appropriator" and you'll have your answer for why rhetorical and visual hypocrisies are her constant professional companions.
Beyoncé is a fan of money and recognition. She - like many pandering purveyors - only values preceding/other performers for the work, style and examples they set forth that allow her to bypass all creativity and originality in her own product while simultaneously receiving praise for (not really) "doing it better." I will never believe someone like her sees Michael, Diana, Tina, Whitney, and a gaggle of other artists, entertainers and performers as the creatives they are. They are simply templates she uses to continue to inflate her mythos, expand her brand and further her greatness campaign.

Hm, I haven't listened to the song but from the lyrics, this really confirms my thoughts of Beyonce being Shawn's puppet and just plain ignorant. I find it disrespect, very disrespectful to Tina and just women/men who have been through domestic violence/partnerships.
Just plain insensitive. If it was anyone else, the shit would have backfired. But since it's Virgin Mary and god himself, Oh don't worry it's okay its perfectly fine. I'm questioning as to WHY that line was even in the song..why? What was the point of it? It could have been avoided or redone. It's obvious neither of them have a cell left in that thing they call a brain.
I'm just so over these two.

I especially love you saying she uses the authentic greats as templates.. Ahahahaa!

They can disrespect her all they want, but guess what Tina is a MotherF**kin LEGEND, she paid her dues. They have no respect for anybody who came before them, it's as almost if CAMEL and SIMPLETON were raised in a Barnyard filled with that nutcase Kim and YE.
