I also side eyed that line when I heard it. Like, matty could have said it to her if he wasn't her daddy and routing for her anyway. And no, Beyonce's voice always had to be hidden by gimmicks like dancehall version of the songs in live concert, and souther church versions, mics that do that haunting echoing thing when she wants to sound deep and amazing (Halo, I was here. All sorts of gimmicks.
