Beyonce's going to be a guest on the Breakfast Club this month. If y'all don't know what The Breakfast Club is, it's a popular morning program in NYC on one of the major hip/hop r&b stations in the country. Beyonce hasn't done an interview with these kinds of urban radio stations since she first went solo back in 2003. She felt she was too big. The fact that she's doing local radio interviews, and an urban one at that, is a real sign of trouble for her career. And this radio show is known for being ignorant and rude and crude with their guests. Of course they'll kiss her ass, but the fact that she has to go on such a tacky and ignorant show just to drum up some sales say a LOT. Beyonce would never have been caught dead on a show like this a year ago.
How the mighty have fallen.

Hmmmm, I listen to the breakfast club and you have got to be sharp, on your toes during that type of interview. We all know she struggles with putting sentences together....Unless its going to be yet another soft-ball interview where she can prepare in advance. Shoot Sheree Whitfield asked for her interview questions before her interview, I'm sure Beyonce can give hers. She's trying any and everything at this point to try to stay on the charts or be revelant. Ya'll know the saying be nice to people on your way up, you'll meet them on your way do- do we think that swhat this is? Seems kinda Desperate in Love to me, if I do say so myself!

SOmething about Jay Z is so pathetic. If his businesses are doign so well why doesn't he give up thewhole rap thing. it is ridiculous as his age. Is he gonna be grey haired wearing chains and sagging pants. This GIF makes me cringe for them.

I remember back in her prime she would not give urban anything the time of day. No black magazine covers. No black product endosement. No Black radio stations, nothing. Now she's running back to the black community now that the whites are too through with her.

GIRL, they look so FAKE and Bey is trying SO HARD in this pic......they have zero, and I mean, ZERO chemistry. And the more they try to make it seem like they do, the more obvious it is that THEY DON'T.
And what else I detect from Bey's demeanor here, is that she KNOWS she is no longer the hott chick, and she is still trying her best to convince not only the world, but herself, that she is.
Bey, let it go. Most people in their 30's are not what they were in their 20's. But you dont care because you're filling your life up with OTHER THINGS that now matter....You always wanna be the best you can *for your age* but you dont have to do all that. Grow up.
Jay look just like one of those over the hill dudes you see, still hangin out in the club and trying his DAMNDEST to have the same swagg as the young dudes....and it's not working. No, its not working at all.
DO BETTER! GROW UP. BOTH OF YOU.

But I agree with you all, yes it does say a lot when THE KING *insert snark* is willing to go urban talk show. But trust, its not sincere. Well I take that back, she's desperate so maybe she IS truly trying to seek out refuge in the street community again. She sees that the white crowd is something to contend with and when they are done, they are DONE, especially when you are black. I mean, look how adored MJ was, and in the end you see how they did him, what the HELL made her think she'd be the exception? And hell, they do THEIR OWN bad...its not just blacks...look how they did Brit and 'nem when they started falling off. For the life of me, I cannot, CANNOT, understand why this woman who appears to have EVERYTHING, and put on an air of perfection....cannot just sit down and REST. Just enjoy life and family....what is the problem?

Now she's running back to the black community now that the whites are too through with her. So true. The most she would do would be Essence. Everything else was far and few between. She hasn't been to the Soul Train Awards since she first went solo and she even stopped going to the BET Awards. She and Jay were in the audience a few years ago but they only showed up because they were promised a ton of awards and neither one of them performed. They obviously made BET beg and jump through hoops to get them just to sit in the audience. And she certainly never gave black radio any time of day since she first started. So for her to go on not just black radio, but the Breakfast Club, is truly a step down and a sign of desperation. White people are pretty much tired of her. Her core audience is gay black guys and ratchet black women. And she knows it and so that's why she's going on a low class show like The Breakfast Club. That's the category she's in now. Going on the same shows as Keyshia Cole and Soldier Boy. LOL

Something is wrong with this gif. Who is she looking at? She not really making eye contact with Jay-Hooves. J dances without interruption, but not so with Beydunce??
Note when her head is way-high, then all of a sudden it's low. You do not see the transition (the lowering - of the head). J is dancing like she isn't even there???
Would not be surprised, at all, if this was photoshopped with a blue, or is it green screen? Shadows are easily transferred, even with this method.

wow this is like her first radio interview. and i love the breakfast club very popular now. this is gonna be an interesting interview. because they are up front with the question they hold nothing back and they don't plan their interviews cause we all know sometimes beyonces interview can seem rehearsed and fake ask her question before hand like that oprah interview. and the interviewer "charlamange tha god" keeps it all they way real like telling kanye he didnt like yeezus i want to know his thoughs. i hope she loosens up and speaks intelligently and i want her to be her true self i want her to prove to me that she can be classy and be an exciting person to have conversation with. if not than i wont be able to defend her when she gets dragged. and she needs to stop using the words: passionate, inspiring, empowering i swear these are the same 3 words she uses during interviews
being in this interview doesnt mean her career is in trouble they interviewd many big name celebrities. nicki minaj, lil kim,big sean, jay zoo, justin timberfake robin thicke chris brown even justin bieber.

She felt she was too big for it. The fact that she's now doing the Breakfast Club does indeed show that she and her team feel that her career is no longer above going on black radio. So while it's not a bad show and lots of stars go on there, the point is, Beyonce thought SHE was too big to go on there. Yet now they have booked her. It shows how her career is on a downturn.

Poor Beyonce tried so hard to have cross over appeal and it never happened for her. Then Kelly comes out with that one dance hit "commander" and white people across the pond just fall all over themselves for her. Beyonce's been trying for that white appeal for ever. As hardas she tried she should have had a major white following. But no, it's mostly ratchet black folk who stan for her. Sad truth is that if you don't appeal to white folks you probably won't have longevity in the industry. Remember how when pink first came out she did rnb? when she switched to more white girl music that's when she blew up and she's been here ever since.
What do you guys think it is about Beyonce that turns white folks off?

^^^ Yur right, even Rihanna, Usher & Chris Brown have "white appeal"
To answer your question:
She turns whites off because she's OBVIOUSLY trying to fit in with them.
Think about it...they liked her best back when she seemed black. White people were intrigued by the golden brown, curvacious Beyonce. As much as they trash us, whites really love us when we are in our natural element, and classy and stylish about it, while doing it well.
Rihanna, Chris Brown and Usher pretty much ACT AS BLACK PEOPLE, they just have "it" - whatever it is that crosses racial borders.
Think about the white artists that we as blacks love......they act white, not like "wiggers". Even Eminem doesn't act black, when you think about it.....he's just a white dude who raps well. But white rappers who came on the scene and overly tried to act black were quickly shut down by us.
People appreciate REALNESS, and its an insult to intelligence when you try to fit in by being fake and going out of the way to be an imposter. White people detect that in Beyonce, even if they dont realize it consciously.

^^^^ this got me thinking
White Hollywood is busy pushing this "light'n'bright" image on us and yet they don't give the queen of light'n'bright the time of day. Beyonce stays in the blonde wigs, gets paler by the day, and yet they don't seem to like her. Whitney was black all the time and they liked her. Rihanna's hair is usually a more natural black and she owns her blackness, and lil beckys are all up in the navy.
Could it be that Hollywood wants us to hate ourselves hence the image that does not represent 90% of black women being the one that's most pushed on us. But when a black woman comes along who owns her blackness, and is above the bleach so to speak, White people fawn. Case in point right now: Lupita.

Which is why she does cheap party promos like Dave n busters, Wal-Mart's, now power 105. So Now when the shit hits the fan, the chips are falling down, Now she wants to fall back to the black community.

^^^ fall back on the black community indeed. I remember her cheesin on all the white shows. Acting all cute and whitewashed. She thought she was in. When in fact, she's no more in than Ciara is. Hollywood also works on a favour system, you scratch my back, I scrath yours. It seems as though Beyonce is incapable of elliciting any major favours from anyone. I wonder why? Gaga got rolling stone & Billboard to lie about how great her album was. Beyone is stuck asking random publications to prop her up.

And while everyone was praising her "genius move" by releasing on iTunes, I was thinking, don't these people realize that she cut out too many middlemen. For example, the entertainment and news venues did not vie for exclusive interviews or stories regarding the album. They want to increase their ratings, so having dibs on her story would provide the opportunity to do this. I could go on and on. I am no business person, but so many people other than Beyoncé "have to eat". They won't forget about her "starving" them.
And you are right, she never made the talk show rounds and all of the promotion that goes along with it all. There should be a website called Poor Beyoncé because she is creating her is orchestrating her own downfall. She already receives little support from others in Hollywood. Look at the guests at her mockumentary release party or iTunes release. Where are her peers? For a woman so damn famous, where the hell is everyone?
It isn't enough to have deranged stans, you also need your peers to like and respect you. When her bubble bursts, I think she will become a mental patient. Poor Blue.

But when a black woman comes along who owns her blackness, and is above the bleach so to speak, White people fawn. Case in point right now: Lupita. I think it goes back to the deeper social issues that are addressed in Frances Cress Welsing book The Isis Papers (I highly recommend this book, there also lectures you can view on youtube). Dr Welsing breaks down how white people come from us (Africans) and are fascinated with trying to marginalize us mentally (with lies of racial superiority) while at time same time trying to emulate us (tanning, breast and butt enhancements, claiming that the father of medicine is Greek etc) It reminds me of the theory of the 5% nation: teaches that 5 percent of people knows the truth of the world, 85 percent are asleep or deaf, dumb and blind to the truth and are preyed upon by the remaining ten percent aka White power structure (using the media, drugs, violence etc.) In this society we're taught that everything bad is black, like you said Eljjai that hollywood pushes that"light'n'bright" image on us, to keep us from finding our power in the truth. Melanin refines the nervous system in such a way that messages from the brain reach other areas of the body most rapidly in Black people, the Original People. Black infants sit, stand, crawl and walk sooner than whites, and demonstarte more advanced cognitive skills than their white counterparts because of their abundance of Melanin. Carol Barnes writes "...your mental processes (brain power) are controlled by the same chemical that gives Black humans their superior physical (atheltics, rhythmic dancing) abilities. This chemical... is Melanin!"....People, white black whatever can respect someone who owns their own skin like that beautiful sista Lupita, but its hard to love someone that doesn't love themselves! (ie bleaching)

* Beyonce looks like a before and after PSA ad for the dangers of crack. Interesting. Very interesting what you wrote. I'll ne googling. Carol Barnes is a professor of pschology and neurology with the University on Arizona. I'll be looking into the claims she made. Why is it that news like this is never trumpeted hmm? I have a friend who is a psychologist and she just believes everything the media feed her. I don't think she has ever had an original thought that broke away from what the media says. and then because she is a doctor, she expects us all to go by her view and dismisses anything else because that's not what she saw on TV. When you say some people are asleep I think of her. She is the most asleep person I know. she won't even consider anything unless some news outlet says it first.
