So much truth. He needs his own show on TV or Radio. Not just coz he's calling Beyonce out but because he calls everybody out. People need to wake up. Our young black women are looking at Beyonce and Jayz's behaviour and believing that this is what love is. Basically a pimp and hoe relationship. Our young men see this and think this is how they should behave towards women. All this so that Black people can self destruct. Meanwhile white women get beautiful songs written for them about being loved and treasured and cherished and being missed when they are gone. They are never called bitches and hoes. They are called angels. Why can't black people wake up?

eljjai....can't agree, it's just this current group of performers (and the messed-up-times we live in). Just search/listen to Luther Vandross (RIP) There are also issues with >> "why you sound so white?" even Michelle O said she was asked that when she was young.

Yeah, I watched that yesterday. He broke it down like a fraction. What she represents is NOT feminism. There's nothing empowering about what Beyonce does and the image she projects. And he is absolutely right. That performance was nothing but pimp and bottom bitch imagery. It did not look like a happy loving husband and wife. She looked like a whore and Jay-Z looked like the dapper pimp who owns her. And the fact that there are so many black feminists trying to claim that Beyonce should be held up as the ideal of black feminism sickens me.

^^^ we don't hear uplifting music marketed to black people anymore. It's all thugs and hoes. There are no Luther Vandrosses today. Urban music is poison.

Great post Enlightenme!!! I completely agree, you can't say that your a feminist but play your pre-destined role in the this patriarchal society, more specifically the misogynistic music industry! Its sad to see Beyonce standing there, barely dressed like the Whore of Babylon, meanwhile Jay Z is standing there in a Tux! She didn't look happy in the pictures backstage, I remember her choreographer saying that Beyonce initially didn't want to do the Uh oh, uh oh, uh oh, oh no no booty shake and they had to talk her into it (telling her all the girls would be doing it etc) so she can't be happy with the direction her career has taken. He's right most female artists in the US get hyper-sexual images when they reach the true age of maturity, in my opinion its a deliberate distraction, to make us self destruct (shout out to Eljjai). The hand the rocks the cradle rules the world. Trini spoke the truth right here. And I agree he should have his own show. What I love about him: he is not biased on anything even about the artists he likes the most like MJ and Mariah.
I've never been convinced about Beyonce and her feminism. Heck she doesn't even know what it really means. I remember an interview she did for a magazine while promoting her 4closure album. I'm not sure but think it was for ELLE; when she got asked what feminism meant to her she responded "I can't really describe it... To me it's natural, because I am a woman". From that day I read the interview, I accepted for the first time that Beyonce was kind of dumb. Being a woman doesn't automatically make you feminist!!! You can't be a feminist and then call other women "bitches" and tell them to "bow down". It doesn't make any sense.
I'm tired of all these women who use sexual objectification as a mean to sell records, gain fame, earn money, and then pass this nonsense as "feminism" or "female empowerment" NO damnit, you're just nothing more than a whore. Now I don't have an issue with women who want to use their body if they are willing to do so, everybody is free to do whatever they want, that's not the problem. My issue is when female celebrities are nothing but living doll and sex toys and instead of openely admitting that THEY ARE, they become hypocrites and call themselves feminists, while the only thing they are really doing is selling sex. Not only they can't be taken seriously, but they are without knowing it making a mockery of feminism, a serious cause, and ruining the efforts of the real feminists who are fighting for equality and women rights. Nobody with a right mind can believe Beyonce's music will help make change or progress for women. Women who fought hard for our rights (right to vote, work without husband permission, get an education, access to birth control pills, right for abortion...) did it with THEIR LEGS CLOSED, not spread like hookers.
