Beyonce clearly has some issues with her self, her skin, and basically who she is. My question is why. Unlike other celebrities with self-hate issues, I don't see why Beyonce should have this problem. The Jacksons and Lil Kim all had features which were considered unappealing i.e big noses and dark skin. Beyonce had none of this. Let her mom tell it and she was always light skinned with long hair. Why has this not been enough for Beyonce who appears to want to be white, or maybe transparent. She's bleached her skin to the high heavens and treats her blonde horse hair wig like a security blanket. She's expressed wanting to be latina, she's made a fool of herself with that l'oreal commercial.. She's doesn't even seem to want to touch her own child's kinky hair. She sang that supid song "creole". It seems as though she has been running away from being black her whole life. Why is that? who taught her to do it? Will she teach Blue as well? For a woman who was never dark skinned with the broad noses and thick lips most associated with being black, why does she live in such fear of what she truly looks like?

It's not good enough being a lighter black woman. She'll never be a white woman. A light-skinned black woman isn't on that level in our society. Only white women are put high on the pedestal of beauty. That's why Beyawnce tries to get as close as she can to the white, blonde, blue-eyed "ideal". Even white people have noticed her getting lighter.

IMO, she's just exhibiting symptoms from Post Traumatic Slavery Syndrome...thinking the only image of beauty is white, I would image that her working in the entertainment industry only increases her issues.
This is a really interesting take on Beyonce and her whitening (its a 4 part series)
