We all know that Nas destroyed and continues to destroy JZ lyrically but for the past couple of weeks Drake has been slowly trying to snatch JZ's chain. Drake made the following statement to Rolling Stone Magazine, “It’s like Hov can’t drop bars these days without at least four art references! I would love to collect at some point, but I think the whole rap/art world thing is getting kind of corny.” Get it Drake! JZ's art references come off as some nouveau riche kind of talk or it sounds like he's so proud he learned something new so he wants to share it to make us all feel dumb but the joke is on him because we already knew it. However, Drake's bravado didn't last long. He ended up saying it was something he said off record and that he has lots of respect for JZ. Drake even rapped in his new song Draft Day, “I’m focused on makin’ records and gettin’ bigger. Just hits, no misses, that’s for the married folk!” “I think I’m on my eighth flow, just watch me paint flow. We all do it for the art, so I can never hate though.” Why oh why are people scared of JZ? He is not built like 50 cent, I never saw him go off on someone other than a female, he probably doesn't have a gun since he may have a felony, and he walks around with bodyguards. Anyway, JZ tried to come for Drake by responding with, “Sorry Mrs. Drizzy. Silly me rappin bout sh*t that I really bought. While these rappers rap about guns they ain’t shot…and a bunch of other silly sh*t that they ain’t got!”What is JZ saying, instead of slandering Drake he slandered himself because Nas and others have confirmed that JZ was never no gangster. JZ ain't no Suge Knight or Tupac. Drake has the record sales, the crossover appeal (he's Black and Jewish plus a foreigner (Canadian)), he can rap, plus dude is mad creative. What rapper you know before Drake other than Biz Markie sang and rap and it was decent? He's actually switchin the game up. I hope Drake and all the other rappers find their manhood and stop being scared of old JZ. He can't do nothing because he knows his season on top of the rap game is up, why would JZ respond if he is suppose to be raps one and only King?

Good Point, Topaz!
They all retract because it puts their gravy train in jeaopardy... I saw a similar post on DR about how calling Camel out have turned on Kanye. Yasiin Bey (Mos Def) did "Niggas in the Poorest" response to that N in Paris BS on the sly and I love it! Check it out:

Drake just does not register on my radar I've never heard a single ne of his songs (seriously).I don't know who he is supposed to be marketed to. From the little that I know of him, he seems so soft and weak. Wasn't he the one that threw a bottle at Chris brown and then ran for his life? No, I won't be giving drake any of my time.
In fact I know he's not a rapper but if Chris Brown had a better team and less drugs in his system then maybe he could pull himself out of the grave he's dug and really build a new empire. But he's too young stupid and drugged up to do so. If Kanye wasn't so far up Jay's but he could have a shot at it. But jays knows to incorporate everyone who is a threat to him into his own brand (like Beyonce tries to do). So kanye won't be waking up anytime soon.
But what we mustn't forget is that Jay Z was made by TPTB not himself. And they will choose his replacement. It could be anyone even flippin Sean Kingston. These rappers are in control of nothing. Absolutely nothing. Jayz is just hanging on for dear life just like the rest of them, praying they won't get cut off.

Check it out: JayZ must know everybody in the music industries secrets, because I don't understand how grown men, with more talent, can just give up their right to say what they feel. Who gave JayZ so much power? The man looks like any regular dude on my block, he ain't that killer gangster....unless he really is. Maybe their is some truth to the Cathy White story which makes people try to avoid JZ. Dame Dash told us how shady and backstabbing JZ can be so maybe people want to avoid JZ's back door backstabbing. If rappers continue to be scared of JZ then we the people gotta bring him back down to earth. The only thing that seems to get under JZ's skin is when the people/media drag him for his foolishness. He is now playing the role of loving husband and father due to the New York Post calling him a poor excuse of a husband. He is now wearing a 5%/black militant group medallion since black people have been calling him out for destroying the black community with his lyrics (see the change.org petition - www.change.org/petitions/record-companies-and-rappers-stop-degrading-black-people). I just can't with JZ. Thanks for posting the Yasiin Bey video, that is true hip hop. It's going on my MP3 palyer. Why can't JZ make music like that? Oh, I forgot, he said in his song Moment of Clarity, "I dumbed down for my audience to double my dollars They criticized me for it, yet they all yell "holla" If skills sold, truth be told, I'd probably be Lyrically Talib Kweli Truthfully I wanna rhyme like Common Sense But I did 5 mill' - I ain't been rhyming like Common since"

Also, Drake is not the one. and will never be the one. The court presents exhibit A-Z, 1 to infinity: I just saw these on SR. Not knowing much aboutt drake, his image or his public persona, just looking at these pics tells me he's just not the one.

He does look like a groupie, brown nose. he may be a nice guy and all, but I will never forget how far up little Wayne's (treasure troll) butt he was and that horrific performance at the BET Awards where Lil Wayne's daughter and a bunch of young girls were on stage while he and Drake chanted "I Wish that i could F*@k Every Girl in the world". I was like, W.T.F.!!!!!! Here is one of many articles expressing outrage at that "performance": www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=212980015611&id=589755189&ref=mf

Absolutely nothing. Jayz is just hanging on for dear life just like the rest of them, praying they won't get cut off. IMO this is what it comes down to. Bullwinkle didn't become A-list until Tupac and Biggie were killed but his lyrical dexterity and prowess never improved much. He started being propped up as the "best" in the game around the time he started calling himself Jay-Hova more frequently. His songs were put into heavier rotation(increased payola) and music critics were giving high marks to his mediocre slop in music magazine (pay-for-praise). Has anyone else on the forum heard people talking about a song having to "grow on" them? Not an independent changing of one's mind, but saying that a song " has to grow" on them? I have, and I've never gotten a straight answer when I've asked people why they " have to" like something if they truly don't. I think it comes down to not wanting to be left out and not wanting to be "uncool". There are people who are easily influenced(not just children, but adults too) and they figure that if a lot of other people (seem to) like something then it must really be good. The people who are pulling Camel's strings know this. They know how to create the conditions for a highly-suggestible audience and they know how to frame their 'suggestions' about who's the "best" at something and why. Jay is "on top" because they put him there. He's "on top" because suggestible people have decided that Jay and his music, no matter how bad it is, have to "grow" on them and Jay's bosses makes sure that he does - like a leech growing fat on the blood of its host. This minor beef between Wheelchair Jimmy and Camel is probably just a way to keep both of their names on gossip sites. It's possible that Drake is going to take Bullwinkle's "throne" but I doubt it. His image right now is too soft for him to be at the top of the pile but if tptb decide that his style will "evolve" into something harder then I guess that Drake might be become the king of mainstream rap. Whether the public really likes his music or not is something else entirely.

Whoever replaces Jay and Beyonce will be more puppets carrying out TPTB's agenda...IMO the folks that the music has to grow on are being brain washed in a sense, there is a mob mentality going on with those folks that want to go along to get along, that find their identities outside of themselves (beehive etc). Just like how people don't really deal with facts and when you do they label you a "hater". Even the news these days in entertainment driven, but this is designed to keep us distracted, thank goodness more and more people are waking up everyday!

Jay z Like his wife Beyonce is allergic to knowledge and education. I doubt they've ever even visited the Louvre or even know much about ththe history of art. they are culturally poor. Remember the time beydunce felt the need to sing on top of the pyramids? what kind of self-saturated imbecile... I can't even. I would have pushed her off if I were the Egyptian guide. Jay-z raps about his art collection because he thinks collecting random pieces of art with no rhyme or reason is what Warren Buffet does. He's dying to be seen in Buffets league. But Jay Z cannot afford the work of a true master, like an italian renaissance master for example. He's stuck with just buying popular, cheap, fad "art" like the "gun on legs" one that beyonce allegedly returned because she didn't like it. He could never even afford the opening bid on true art.

Yeah they both just pick up lil tidbits from here or there, just enough to seem a lil smart (um, Jay Z? It takes yrs to actually appreciate art), cuz see they know that all their peers aren't as sharp.
When mostly hoodrats are your fanbase, you can say and play out all this nonsense way too easily, cuz at the end of the day, your dumb stans will be down for you, especially if it sounds smart..hence this feminism foolishnes, attention stans feminism does not entail justifying nudity, that's way different. I am so sure that most of her stans don't even know what feminism is. But either way, to them, it seems like a valid, educated "big word", and they'll stand by her side, c5ant ya just hear it. "Bey is not ony beautiful, she's smart too, take that haters!!" That's what they love to call us when beyonce gets dragged, 'haterz'......hmmm small minds.
Just SAD!!
