JAy Z was recently dissed by drake for always talking about art. At first I thought it was petty but something recently made me think twice. Art can be very expensive. And to be honest I doubt Jay Z has ever been able to afford any of the art up scale art he's been name dropping. I read he recently bought a Basquait for 4.5 million. That might seem impressive until you realise that Basquaits painting "dustheads" sold for 48.8 million dollars this year at Christie's in New York. Then you realise that Jay is just like those broke fools buying the cheapest luxury good they can find so that they can present a false image. Jay Z can't afford to buy a major Basquait. He can't afford to buy any of the art he raps about. He's just like his fans. Here's is a Forbes article that subtley call him out on it.

Wow! Just looking at how expensive that art is makes me believe Jay is a big ole bold camel face lie!. If he purchased a couple of the ones he mentioned, he and Beyfunke' would be standing in the unemployment line and trying to get on food stamps, just to feed Blue AKA "Baby Jigga." Just the paintings he mentioned, name dropped and claims to own, (while bragging per usual, on his MCHG album), all of those paintings totaled together comes to a whopping $493 Million dollars. Which is almost just as much as he's "allegedly" worth. Even if you combined his money with Beyfunke' they would still be in a hole due to living expenses, law suits and trying to keep up with the Joneses.
We have Drake to thank for outing Jay as a liar. If it wasn't for this diss, Jay would've gone unchecked with idiots hanging on and believing his every word pushing through those camel teeth of his.
Drake said...
“It’s like Hov can’t drop bars these days without at least four art references,” Drake said in the interview. “I would love to collect [art] at some point, but I think the whole rap/art world thing is getting kind of corny.”
And Jay's response was...
"Sorry Mrs. Drizzy for so much art talk,” Jay Z raps on the track. “Silly me, rappin’ ’bout s**t that I really bought — while these rappers rap about guns that they ain’t shot — and a bunch of other silly s**t that they ain’t got.”
Jay's response is what I believe made intelligent people like eljjai do a quick little research which also exposed this old ass camel-man even further. I just hope Camel-man and Beyfunke' fans and stans alike, come out of their trance and begin to separate and understand the difference between fact and fiction.
Anyway......
Judging by the way TPTB has been marinating them, seasoning them and flouring them up lately... they are about to set their asses up to be fried and eaten, bones included. If they've purchased/invested in some of this expensive art, hopefully it will be sufficient enough to sustain them after their careers dry up.

I've seen some pictures of Camel and Yaki at the Louvre and it made me think of this thread. Can either of them pronouce "Louvre" properly? I guess they think they're doing something special by going to a museum that has thousands of visitors every year.

The folks at dlisted tore them a brand new one for all that foolery. some brilliant observations made there too.
