Hi DR Family! I went to Huffingtonpost.com and was reading some of the comments there, when I came across a comment that perfectly describes exactly what I feel is going on in today's music world. And I believe a few of us have discussed this matter here on this blog or the maybe the sister blog. But I mainly wanted to post this to give the heads up to those who can't figure out why things are they way they are...especially compared to how things used to be. Here's that comment: "Music and the music business, the corporate stuff, has been reduced to virtually 5 dance-pop performers. These 5 get more media attention than all the other musicians in the world, combined. Corporate music has marginalize the best of the rest into footnotes :Beyonce, Beiber, Gaga, Perry, or Swift. (and maybe runnerups 1D, JT, and Miley). Never in history have 5 musicians got more press than all the rest. Never in history have the music business been mostly 3 companies (Universal, Warners, Sony). Never in history has the major media companies owned the music companies too, so they can make the music, promote the music, and then give themselves great reviews without ever leaving the house! We need the vitality that a little music rebellion would bring." I totally agree and I would also add in a few others who were not mentioned but are no doubt apart of this music circus specifically and deliberately designed for us...i.e., Rihanna, Kanye, Jay-Z, etc... What are your thoughts about this and do you think a bit of "music rebellion" is in need?

This is true and has been evident for a while. The oversaturation of the worst "music" in the history of mankind is on full display. Even if other singers are brilliant the constat coverage never leaves these imbeciles. Where is Adele? Wher is Janelle? These unknown villains of the media industry have held the public hostage long enough. A system like this cannot stand forever. I already feel a change coming along. I sincerely hope the public will be so mad that they won't even accept a Beyonce "replacement". I would love to see a time when vulgarity is considered vulgar before I leave this world.

That comment on Huff also confirmed why B has be famous and on top for so long without ever having to have constant #1 hits on the chart or have record breaking sales to go with her fame and fortune. No wonder she feels "more powerful than her mind can digest". Just like a real queen, she has been handed her crown, instead of earning her crown. Basically, she was just handed that position but the down side about this is she cannot rest, slow things down or do what she wants to do. Even a real queen has an advisor...but we call that a handler.
Also...this confirms why all of these artist basically do the same things at the same time. I do know that styles come and go, but when I look at these artist...and I use that lightly...their videos, song subject matters, attire on stage and off, etc, etc, etc, is and has been mirroring each other at the same time...I can see clearly there is someone pulling the puppet strings. Each of these artist has made very dark songs and videos. Each has shown some type of reference or allegiance to a "secret society" or "Illuminati". Each woman has gotten more naked. Project "Baby boom", and so on...
Thanks to Mrs. Andi K., I try to no longer type her name or any name I think will get her hits. Each time we type her name on the internet, she gets hits. If anyone here can think of other names to use to identify her with please share with us. Because I'm positive her name and a few famous nick names for her that are commonly used are giving her hits.

This is some straight TRUTH and unfortunately most people don’t know about it. Admittedly I didn’t really get it until I started reading Vigilant Citizen. I knew about some acquisitions and mergers but until I looked at the chart showing the mega-companies and their subsidiaries I didn’t know that these companies had so many ‘faces’, so to speak.
It would be nice if more people broke away from mainstream music but I don’t see it happening anytime soon. Too many are complacent with the crap that’s being marketed to them as “creativity” and “good music”. Has anyone else seen “Merchants of Cool” or “Century of Self”? ‘Merchants’ focuses specifically on youth culture and marketing but ‘Century’ talks about the history of public manipulation/relations and brand development for products as well as people. I believe that people have a right to listen to whatever music they like but there’s no denying how much effort is put into influencing what the public likes. Unless people start flocking to indie artists in large numbers I don’t think we'll see anything close to a rebellion.

Shana, I too wasn't aware of the workings of the entertainment industry until I discovered Vigilant Citizen. That site encouraged me to look deeper and do more research. Even before I became conscious, I "felt" something was not right and thought I was alone. I am so grateful for sites like VC, DR, and others... I see that I am not alone and seeing that more and more poeple are waking up to this nonsense. I will check out your suggestions (Merchants of Cool and Century of Self). All of this mass propaganda is a well-documented science (i.e. Check out the works of Edward Bernays Freud's nephew and Joseph Goebbels- minister of Nazi propaganda).

Giftofdiscernment, Century of Self talks a lot about the influence of Bernays on public relations (they even talk about Freud too). It's a very long documentary - about 4 hrs total - but it's totally worth watching. You can watch it in hour-long segments on youtube.

giftofdiscernment Thanks for sharing that bit of info, I'll be checking into it very soon and I've been hooked on VC for many yrs now. It is the truth and further opened my eyes. And as you know from reading that blog. Now we are able to quickly spot things such as blatant symbols, signs, and colors we used to over look and never thought twice about. Now I see these things no matter where I go. Even when I'm watching what appears to be an innocent movie or a cartoon. Lol. It's everywhere! I really wish more people were able to see and overstand that comment I found that explains it all. They wouldn't be so quick to throw their praises around and fight others til the death, in the name of their "favorite", if only they knew they have been manipulated, mind phucked, brainwashed, made a fool of and used to support a system specifically and deliberately designed to make them mental slaves. I'd like for those of use who don't appreciate being taken advantage of or to have our intelligence insulted, to know and learn about this. I'm sure there are many who will be followers and are comfortable with being told what to think and how to feel. This message would only go over their heads because these people can't phantom evil and wickedness in high places. Plus the fact that they are too weak, lazy and scared to stand alone in their truth. Truthfully, if it were not for followers a lot of these artist would've been pushed out of the limelight long ago. Once upon a time if your numbers and songs weren't cuttin' it, your ass was outta here and folks moved on the the next worthy best thing. No such thing as..."It has to grow on me", type of Bullshit. Lol! No Ma'am.

^^exactly. It seems that some are connecting the dots, others are lost causes.
Brainwash, propaganda, mind control are real, as is white supremacy, as were physical slaves, as are mental slaves.
I just saw a post on FB it bascially said how we used to be fans of songs, not artists. I am still like that.
I wasn't designed to worship or exalt another human being because of tthir so called 'talent' or 'beauty' or 'money'
Nowadyas especially with Bey and Jay, that is their ONLY comeback to criticism, how f-in lame.
