My favorite response to the above: Real Black Sista 9/19/2014 4:56 AM EST The chickens are coming home to roost on Ms. Minaj. I work with young Black girls who idolize her. Her straight hair, mulatto features and molded frame are a look they admire, but will never be able to achieve. Do you realize how this affects their self esteem? She markets heavily to young urban girls. Her base nonsense lyrics that don't show any sisterhood or nation building and her lack of knowledge and respect for basic Black historical facts have left a bad taste in my mouth. To read a white feminist - who thinks she knows our struggle - defend this modern day caricature of a rapper in the Washington Post shows how far liberals are removed from our struggle. Minaj and her type work with the contemporary rap industry to destroyed any credibility Black women have built in hip-hop artistry. So Ms. Dewey in my hood among the seriously conscious Black women, Minaj gets no love.
