I am actually shocked to see an article on a mainstream site call out Beyonce this bluntly. She even goes in on her nose job and skin bleaching. Man, the tide is truly turning. You'd never see something like this about Beyonce on the Huffington Post. And the comments are pretty much all cosigning! People are truly turning on Mrs. Carter. Oh, and the stans are mad because they can't call the author "jealous" since she's actually lighter than Beyonce and has real hair. LOL!!!! www.huffingtonpost.com/kim-lute/dangerously-in-denial_b_6666334.html

I thought the article was good, if for no other reason than the writer called out snob-mack-bey. I do disagree with some parts, although, not whole heartily. I wish I had the time or inclination to delve into this completely, maybe at a later time, but let me begin. This stuff about dark vs light skin is just .....at times.....just stupid. Perpetrated by my own people that do not see the value in their (own) lives, no matter what their shade. This makes me very sad and I will not subscribe to it! It does nothing to enhance our lives and makes us all suspect of one another. When I ask a Becky (yt) at work, who they like better, bey or Jennifer Hudson? 90% say J H. How can that be? Hudson is darker? Etta James is far lighter than Beezy, so where is the color issue on that? Ella Fitzgerald, Aretha Franklin, Heather Hadley all beautiful dark sista's with a big following and respected by ALL colors. I'm not saying there are times when color is not an issue. I'm just saying it's not 24/7 - and most of the time it is coming from us. There is so much more to say on this topic and sometimes I do feel differently. Live the best life you can and that is its own reward. Education, education, education so you don't wind up like StupidBey.
THE BLAME FOR THIS FALLS ON NO ONE, EXCEPT BEY! She knew exactly what she was doing and what she wanted, everyone else be damned! Fortunately, she failed. To blame this on color struck takes the blame away from her, once again, and places it where does not belong. Enough, it's been done to death.

I agree with most of the article. And do believe Hollywood has a deliberate agenda to marginalize brown skinned black women and strong educated black women and replace them with light skinned hoe-type uneducated women. (Not saying all ight skinned women are like that). When ever there is a role for a positive black woman with strong sense of identity we get Zoe flippin Saldana. That is no mistake or oversight.
But in this case I don't think anyone thought of colour.

What's wrong with Zoe? I like her more than crazy ass Halle. I personally hate the whole light vs dark debate, it's so retarded.
Anyway Guest** is spot on White people don't care about any of that stuff, we're all the same to them, lol. Those people who care about this in the media is working hard to take the blame off Beyonce's shoulders and place it on the Grammy committee. They are totally overlooking the fact that she ASKED to sing the song in place of Ledisi.

Beyonce's color is ABSOLUTLEY a huge part of her success. I know black people get scared to talk about this but it's a fact of life. And Beyonce knows it. Which is why she goes out of her way to be as white looking as possible. It's why she calls herself "Creole" instead of Black. Meannwhile, everyone is scared as hell to call her out on it. I'm glad the author went there and put it all on the table. Darker skinned black women are marginalized in the industry these days and Beyonce is a handmaiden to that marginialization. She pushed Ledisi aside because she knew she could get away with it because of Ledisi's color. She would never have done that to a non-Black woman, and we all know it. Look at how Beyonce treated Taylor Swift as opposed to Ledisi. That tells you all that you need to know.
