Of all the backlash I've seen, I love these comments made on Madamenoire: "I know that she grew up privileged/with money. I just want to know at exactly what $ amount, what magical number makes you forget the black struggle, because I will stop at the number right before I sold out. I've been a Die Hard fan of hers for over a decade, even through that messy Destiny's Child member drive Bull ish. She makes a mockery of Sisterhood and seems to only want to be Black when it's convenient. She'll only acknowledge the struggle when she's in between projects. Talking about that song was for Matthew, why wasn't his azz Present. Was he even at her sister wedding. You haven't been down since Trayvon Martin, and that's only because Obama said something first. But this is tooo far. I un followed her azz, Im turning in my stinger and wings. I am no longer a member of the Hive. She can Keep that Amex but Please turn in your black card."Another commenter responded to that comment with:"I was a fan too, until Sunday I took all of her cd's to the goodwill they will sell them for .50 or less. she is a selfish country bumpkin that happend to make it. and no she was not born with a silver spoon, her mother and father worked everyday like your and my parents! that whole little click is sad!!" madamenoire.com/510303/ledisi-admits-to-being-disappointed/#disqus_thread

Another one:
"i can read but just because i don't agree with you doesn't mean i have a comprehension problem like you. common and john legend was asked by the grammys to put together a performance relating to selma. they were gonna have ledisi join them BUT but they received a call from beyonce requesting to be the one to sing that song opening them up. they said publicly "how can anyone say no to beyonce" that is a nice way of saying beyonce wasn't what we were gonna do but hey shes Beyonce, how could we refuse when she asks to be the one to sing the song. they felt like they were stuck. did you even read what they said??? they could have said "oh of course beyonce sang she was are number choice, or she was what we always had in mind. but they didn't...they politely said "how could we tell her no". FYI- the Grammys and other shows routinely ask stars to put together a performance and the stars have leeway in selecting who they want to perform with them. this is normal. why do you think beyonce went to common and john legend??? she didn't ask the Grammy committee but she went to john and common because she knew they had a choice of choosing who was gonna perform with them on the Selma songs. i fully believe john and common were gonna chose ledisi to join in but as they say "when beyonce asks how could we say no". now do you still have issues comprehending that. and fyi- im a huge fan of beyonce. i wore her cds out, played them everyday but im not some blind zombie who is infatuated and refuses to say shes wrong. in this instance i can say beyonce was 100% wrong. how many times do singers get to perform at the Grammy when they have a poplar song? not many (not talking about beyonce) but the average entertainer? not many. this was ledisis time and beyonce stole it. if you cant see that then oh well but don't insult me simply because you are so blind-in-love with beyonce. whats worse about what beyonce did, is that as you say she could have sung ANY song but she didn't, she took the song that was ledisi to sing. thats low. if beyonce wasn't performing at all then i could see her saying hey i wanna perform because im not performing. so it makes it even more worse that she was l already billed to sing HER song, but didn't, she made sure she stick it to ledisi. a descent thing to do is sing the song the grammys asked you and scheduled you to sing and allowed john an common to choose who they wanted to join in the selma tribute. if shes gonna bud she should have said "wow you guys gonna have ledisi join right". it sad because all of the could have sang, beyonce was already on the bill smh."

I'm just gonna start posting good comments...I'm just so happy to finally see the MASS PUBLIC beginning to open their eyes and wake up!
"You know that Beyonce being scheduled to perform something is not even the point here. You're dodging the fact that she deliberately chose the song that would steal someone else's shine. If her album is SO great that it should have won AOTY, then why didn't she sing one of those songs? Because she wanted THAT song, 'Precious Lord', to be associated with HER performing it, not the actual woman who performed it and PLAYED the historical figure who sang it in the film.
What's more, she sexualized a gospel song by wearing a dress to accentuate her figure, which she had backlit! I'm not a prude by any means, my tolerance is actually quite high, but vanity has no seat in the house of God. And no, I'm not trying to talk like some saint, but if she was really wanting to focus on the message then she would do what she could to make people focus on that entirely. Isn't she the same person who said all she needs is "a mic and a light"?"

"I think its YOU who miss the point. The performance originally did not include Bey either. She clearly took advantage of an opportunity. I think they let her knowing her payback was coming in the album of the year category. It was the ultimate gotcha moment. Priceless."

"I don't give a f*** if she was booked to sing or not. That isn't the point. Why can't you people get that through your dense heads!? Beyonce could've chosen a million of other songs to sing that are related to the movement but she decided to choose the one song that just so happens to be in the big movie that just came out. Oh and there vocalist that sung that very song is in the frickin audience!? You don't see how foul that is!? She wasn't trying to promote a message, she was exploiting an opportunity!! Since when is she vocal about social issues unless it somehow benefits her? Wake the heck up. If Mariah Carey had sung "At Last" at the Grammys right after Cadillac Records came out she would've had a damn fit!!"

"You must be the same person that posted a comment like this before because there's no way multiple people have this twisted logic. Beyonce, who has been QUITE silent about this movement decides all of a sudden to perform this song while the big movie happens to be out. Oh and she just so happens to sing the song that another talented vocalist (who is sitting in the ****ing audience) sang in the movie! Despite the fact that she could've sung a million other songs that relate to the movement! Now she's giving us a message? Are you ****ing kidding me!? Just yesterday the only thing she cared about was surfboardt (or however you spell it). Wake the heck up and stop being so brainwashed!"

"Honestly, I would rather not have it sung at all if it's not going to be sung by the right person. And all this bull **** you're talking about black artists using their platforms--make no mistake, this wasn't about the Movement, this was about Beyonce. She saw an opportunity to sing this song that happens to be in this big movie that just came out and she exploited that opportunity. She has never mentioned a word about Ferguson or anything else for that matter. Yesterday the only thing she cared about was surfbordt (or however u spell it). If she cared about black people so much she wouldn't have undermined one of her own black sisters just to get a little more spotlight. And if she wanted to sing a song dedicated to the movement so damn bad, she had a million others to choose from. Instead she chose the one song that was sung in the movie by the talented vocalist sitting in the damn audience. There was nothing sincere about this so please stop making sorry excuses."

"Honestly, you're damned if you do or your don't. If she'd used stronger words, people would have criticized her, but when she takes a classy route, there is still criticism. I think when you're in the industry you have to be careful not to mess up the bed you lay in. Ask Keri Hilson.
I think this will work out far better for her going about it the way she did, because people will respond well to that. Showing the humility and selflessness that Beyonce didn't in this case will make her look better off."

"I know that many of you are Beyonce fans, Beehives...Bee-Haviors..I dont know all the names???However, I do know in these perilous times, when greed and "attention seekers" are glorified , it would be nice to see us extend Grace to each other regularly. Especially celebrities, because they do have the attention of our youth. Where am I going with this? I will tell you... Beyonce was asked to sing at the Grammys during a segment with Common and John Legend, representing the songs/soundtrack of Selma. Yes, Queen B, who will be DRUNK IN LOVE and FLAWLESS, with her beautiful, couture, MONICA LEWINSKI'D gown on, stepping out of her limo, (with the PARTITION down of course!), and stepping on stage to sing PRECIOUS LORD! (coined by the great Mahalia Jackson). This would be cool, if you didnt have an artist by the name of Ledisi, who was IN the movie Selma, who rerecorded Precious Lord for the soundtrack AND slayed it!!! She put it under submission y'all. For those who don't know, Ledisi is a pretty brown sister, with flowing locks as the crown on her head, and her voice....my God...her voice, is a gift! BUT, Beyonce was chosen, we can all figure out why...but this is when Grace steps in. To Beyonce: You have received all the accolades known to man. You are seen everywhere, the world knows your name, it would have been GRACE-ious of you to decline the invitation. To my beautiful dark-skinned sisters, I love you! To my pretty light-skinned ladies...uh, you a'ight! Just kidding, I love you too! Please people lets extend Grace."

"It's ironic Bey chose a gospel song when this time last year she was on that very stage in lingerie with her legs cocked open talking about surfboards and giving head"

"That's what classy ladies do, insecure country bumkins get up on stage and takeover, try to sing better than the powerhouse voice that sung the song first!!"

Bless them for finally seeing the light haha! Bey stans think anyone who doesn't like her is just jealous but many of us have valid reasons for not liking her, and even now her former stans have realized those reasons.

I like this. It'd be pretty cool if this was a thread sort of similar to the "The BIG Thread of Beyonces Lies and Stealing History" but it'd be comments we see online. I don't visit much sites anymore but when I do see comments a lot of them hit the nail right on the head. Just a suggestion .

I'm sure there are more stans who hav seen the light. Some might be too embarrassed to openly state that they once stanned for this creature. I know I would be. BUt you can see the tide turn in absolutely evry forum. Sales, endorsements, blogs, online presence etc etc.
