I've been thinking and I believe that Kanye might really be anti-Beyonce. As we found out after the Grammys, thanks to a background dancer/friend of Beyonce, that the Carters cut ties with Kanye over two years ago and now only deal with him in a professional capacity. The friendship is offiially dead, it's all business for them now. We all knew that when they didn't attend Kanye's wedding but it was cool to get that confirmation from someone who actually is close to Beyonce.
So I'm sure that Kanye was hurt that his "big brother" Jay and his homegirl Beyonce have kicked him to the curb and only want him around if he can help them make money. I think what he did at this year's Grammys was designed to sabotage Beyonce. For two reasons: he's pissed at her for dropping him as a friend and treating Kim like crap in public and also because he's going to be working heavily with Rihanna this year and he wants to boost Rihanna. I think it was very clever.
The things he said, about Beck not being a real arist compared to Beyonce, did nothing but bring bad press towards Beyonce. And even though she didn't say a bad word toward Beck, people were just as mad at her as they were Kanye. Look at all the memes that came out comparing all the dozens of people Beyonce needed to write her album, as opposed to Beck who wrote and produced his album by himself. Look at all the musicians who came out to defend Beck while throwing subtle shade at Beyonce. If Kanye hadn't done what he did at the Grammys, would Kid Rock so openly have gone after her. Not only did he dismiss her musically, he also said she overrated looks-wise. Kanye has opened up a new door that's now made it ok for people to go after Beyonce in a manner which was not accepted before. Even sites like Buzzfeed, which is definitely on Beyonce's payroll, came after her over the Beck thing.
Kanye and Rihanna are working together now. They have that hit song with Paul McCartney, Kanye is producing her album, they were just announced as headliners of Lalopalooza this year, and they're also going on a world tour together. I think Kanye is going to show that it is he and Rihanna who are the real stars of Roc Nation. They are the ones keeping that whole operation afloat. They are the bigger stars and this year will prove that. Rihanna's album will outsell Beyonce's easily and their tour will outsell On the Run. Jay and Beyonce are played out and overrated and I think what Kanye did at the Grammys was calculated and designed to take them down. And I think it's working. And I think it was brilliant.
