So many hits on one soundtrack. My fav is Jhuds, "Whatever makes you happy"that's a fun, original song...not stolen. if ya haven't heard it, check it out, I'm sure it's on youtube!

I still haven't watched the show but will check out the soundtrack. I'm going to wait until the entire season ends and watch them all at once.

Okay I'm watching the first season of empire right now and....
I'm sorry but this show does nothing but support the misguided notion that the hip hop world is the pinnacle of black success. Here's my bleakest opinion of Empire:
Black people were starting to wake up to the truth. The fact that rappers stay broke. The fact that most of them do something strange to get put on. all of that.
So the PTB came up with a plan to divert, misdirect and completely gloss over all the truth that was coming out.
Now we get Empire a show that promotess black people in the worst light. Dirty dealing, cooning, being disrespectful to their elders. All the crap that is killing the black community is being glorified here.
I can't support this. Blacks have had the wool pulled over their eyes once again. Does this air on BET? it should. it would fit right in.
I had such hopes for Taraji, I guess a check is a check when you're on coke. (yeah I heard she on that stuff)

I don't have much interest in Empire but I'm glad the soundtrack beat Madonna's newest album.  She has been super thirsty promoting this album and I know that getting the #2 spot has knocked some of the wind out of her sails. |

missy, my guess is that either 1) her bosses/owners are forcing her to put out another album, 2) she misses the spotlight and loves competing with people young enough to be her children, or 3) both. You never hear about her having any major money problems so I doubt it's because she's broke. And her last album flopped, so it's not like most people are checking for her either.
