I'm in the middle of a youtube bender, listening to and watchign all these new music videos and new artists out there. I'm noticing an extreme shift in "demographics" since I was a youngin. It looks like Hip hop/rnb is getting paler. There are many new black female artists. They are all mixed to white. No brown girls in the videos anymore.
This pleases me a great deal. I hope this kind of hip hop continues to get lighter and whiter until black kids can't identify with it anymore. There's got to be a tipping point when black youth realise that the images shown to them are not attainable. Non black women, non black rappers. Because I hope that then, black kids will totally disengage from this crap and let other hues take a turn on the carousel. Maybe then we can have a generation with brains and drive and positive visions for the future. What do you guys think?

I've never thought of it that way, but I'd love for your vision to happen.
