Beyonce is being concidered to play the wicked witch in The Wiz.
I say, umm is this a new non speaking role, where you just run around and cackle? Hey, the witches in the past had to speak, and ain't nobody got time to try and translate the s*** that's comes outta Beyonce's mouth. Naw, I don't think she'll get this role, it wouldn't be fair to the chick who's also up for it, who played in Orange Is The New Black.
I believe it's for some buzz within the motion picture industry, like to say "hay, look at me". I don't know, just my opinion, but she must've been taking mad lessons on diction, and acting, cuz we all know she'd do ALOT better playing a mime, because that old Beyonce Drawal is not gonna get it. Lol, some folk say Texas drawal, nope, I'm a Houstonian, born and raised, and I don't know anyone who speaks like Beyonce, except Beyonce'.

Unfortunately many times when the object is money, folks will aim for the lowest common denominator. despite Bey being a terrible actress they will cast her in it in the hopes of filling seats becuase of her name, rather than casting a lessor known but better actress. But she might just make a decent good witch, "slow" and "good' are easily interchangeable in children's stories. |

See, when I found out that Queen Latifah was going to be in it I thought about watching. If Bey is in it I'll pass. She's a crappy "actress" and whether she's cast as Eviline, Glinda, the Scarecrow, or Toto is doesn't matter because she's going to fail at bringing the character to life. I guess I should just be glad she's not trying to play Dorothy.

Did she even audition, or did she just pay for more planted PR stories? |

The only filming taking place will be the night of broadcast because NBC is televising a performance of the stageplay, not a movie. And considering how much costuming, staging, instrumental music, and lyrics are "inspired" by others I think would be able to rehearse for a musical if she were cast in one; when your creative process is based on poaching from others you have more free time to attend to other pursuits. |
