Beyonce has never once used her celebrity to give a voice to any other class than herself. Her focus is on being non-divisive while still raking in millions. She's as interesting and unobtrusive as plain, white wallpaper.
Sure- she posted some rainbow themed photo/video after marriage equality passed. But again, "after." Her voice wasn't ever heard while other people were truly involved in making it happen. To her, it was an afterthought.
One can only truly be an icon if they take a stand on an issue. ANY issue. Icons are people that make their voices heard, both on AND off the stage. She shouldn't be idolized for not saying a thing about anything, in interest of protecting her bland brand.
"My music is for both gays AND bigots! Equality Beyonce for all!"

Too true. And quite frankly, I find her voice to be anemic. Adele she is NOT. Christ, even Katy Perry has better pipes than her.

This is what happens when you jump on various political bandwagons to temporarily enhance your image and not because you really care - people end up being disappointed and turned off by you, which is just the opposite of what you were going for. I'm not surprised that she hasn't said boo about the HERO ordinance because the issue wasn't hot/glamorous enough for her to wrap her claws around. HERO isn't associated with a major protest movement such as Black Lives Matter, so there's not enough publicity for her to want to associate herself with the issue.
The thing is, if you're going to be fake you could at least be smart about it, you know? She should be speaking up about this and other similar political issues - and do it while things are happening, not after the fact like she did with SCOTUS decision on gay marriage. Has Bouncy forgotten how much of her Stanbase is part of the alphabet soup (particularly the G and T in GLBTQIA)? She should be trying to get in this community's good graces because when it come to aging divas (Cher, Babs, Madge, Diana, Liza) many of them owe a nice chunk of their income to this segment of the population during the twilight years of their careers. As much as she tries to fight it Bee is an aging diva and those twilight years will be here sooner than she wants to admit. This child is so dumb that she can't even be bothered to hedge her bets and try to secure more longevity.
