In 2009, Beyonce tributed Halo to Cancer victim Chesea James, changing the words to "Chelsea I can see your halo - I pray you won't fade away." Thankfully, she didn’t fade away. The picture below is of Chelsea being reunited with Beyonce last night, after having the song Survivor dedicated to her. It obviously meant a lot to the teenager:"I was so excited to meet Beyonce again," Chelsea said. "Last time Beyonce sang to me on stage. This time ... I actually got to meet her backstage and talk to her and laugh with her, which was so cool. I'll never forget this."Source

Now that is nice, I will admit. I'm mainly speaking from the little girls' perspective...how sweet.
And Beyonce actually looks pretty and refreshed here....kinda like the old days

Wait, I'm sorry I do have to hate for a second.
DID SHE REALLY SAY, "Chelsea I can see your halo - I pray you won't fade away."
HUH? You sung that to a sick child? See, this is why the bish cant do shit like this impromptu. ANYTHING stupid is liable to come outta that plastic ass mouth.
REALLY??
Okay back to the niceness. But I had to point that out.

I'll finish the thread title: When Beyoncé Does Good, It Still Annoys Me (personally) -- lol Is this the same girl from Australia, '09? I felt she was wrong for bellowing in that child's face and I stand by judging her for pandering to people with that lame ass song. That song is about the halo she sees over her own self-absorbed head. It's a feeble thing to sing in tribute of others. Even the melody is annoying. People like to say it's the thought that counts about things like this and I'm inclined to think she and her team don't think if they really listen to that song and think about the tributes she does/has done with it. She could sing so many other more appropriate songs - by a multitude of other artists. Songs that are uplifting and pitched right, lyrically and sentiment-wise. I'd like to say something nice, but I just can't.

I'm not going to lie to nobody, but I don't think this girl does anything good that comes from the heart. I think she does this stuff for PR an to show the public that she cares, and she's human when in reality she lives in a imaginary world. If you do something good you should be able to speak about it without any problems. Like the Trayvon Martin situation, when Jay said that he thought George was a F*** mall cop. Then when he gets to the rally an all of a sudden neither one of them want to speak about on the issue but you have so much to say in a interview.(LIKE REALLY)

I do pick up the impression from these two that they're terrified of upsetting the wrong people.

I do pick up the impression from these two that they're terrified of upsetting the wrong people. On top of that, probably terrified about getting scrutinized and critiqued on a large scale for their (likely) uninformed opinions by the general public. They don't strike me as people with (intellectual) curiosity about current affairs and instead of admitting they're not up on the topic when questioned (on social media, example), they stay quiet and roll out some kind of styled, calculated response later down the line. You see how long it takes them to react to things - they chime in after Barack Obama says something. Bet if BO had commented (has he? IDK - I can't imagine it's high on his priorities list) about the Barneys mess, Shawn Carter would've made a stronger, faster response - whatever side of the issue he might be on. He's embarrassing coming after Harry Belafonte in a song, but having no real public response about what happened to people of color via a corporation he's joined up with to sell shit. They get a taste of something and it ends up in a rap verse or an Instagram picture. An opportunity to look like they give a damn and be on the "right" side of an issue arises and they attend a rally - to be photographed and fawned over on social media for supposedly using their fame to bring awareness to an issue that had been huge topic for OVER A YEAR. Sigh. They can talk about what they know and sing about their lifestyle. They have no problem being posers as long as there's profit in it to their pockets and their public image. They're only "genuine" about their fame, wealth and status. I'm not sure why ranting about them still appeals to me. I only know that it does. I kind of feel like they have to be reacted against as long as they spew bullshit or participate in fuckery. In a way, they are "low-hanging fruit" and I do believe that it would be better to ignore them, but that's not going to make them go away (yet), lol. It's a vicious cycle.

I've been trying to figure out why I am such a hater on them, and I just cant/wont quit, and I think you just helped me figure it out.

yeah---no. Sorry. Beyonce repuation is shot to hell. even if she did this from the bottom of her heart. And the fact that she plasters it everwhere for everyone to see makes it seem super fake. she should do what she does quietly like some of these other celebs. they don't release their charitable deeds but it gets out through someone who was there on a message board or a cellphone picture on a facebook profile. She's got the press ready and waiting to tak the pics and write the tale.

Beyonce's duet with terminally ill girlThe story to the above headline begins with: Beyonce has created an unforgettable experience for a terminally ill child.
But, when it gets to the point were she's singing the same song (Survivor) to another terminally ill girl on another stage with the video also going viral, part of me feels like it should have been Beyonce that made the effort to go and see this girl privately. Here's the rest: American girl Taylon Davis, 12, was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour, and her dying wish was to sing and dance with the superstar. With the help of the Make-A-Wish foundation, Taylon and her mother were flown to Las Vegas to see the Mrs Carter Show World Tour in early December. During the show at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, Beyonce flew over the stage and landed in front of the young girl. Tears streamed down Taylon's face as the singer knelt down to give her a hug and they sang Love On Top together. Beyonce then launched into a rendition of the Destiny's Child hit Survivor, the lyrics taking on a whole new meaning when sung to the dying girl.Taylon sang along and danced with Beyonce from her wheelchair. Farewelling the young girl with a big hug and a kiss, Beyonce returned to the stage to continue her show.A video about Taylon's experience was released on YouTube on Christmas Eve, and also includes interviews with her family. The touching video has since gone viral, with more than 412,000 views since being released. It has been an incredibly successful end to the year for Beyonce, whose fifth solo album Beyonce took the world by surprise earlierwww.smh.com.au/entertainment/music/beyonces-duet-with-terminally-ill-girl-20131227-2zynm.html#ixzz2og0F4Em4

^^^^ How do you sing survivor to a DYING TERMINALLY ILL person? If it's terminal she is never going to be a survivor, short of a miracle. And would it kill Beydunce to sing someone elses more approriate song? If she can butcher Whitney's song for fun surely she can butcher other songs for a cause.

Me personally, I just think if you're going to do this kind of thing, yes, at least vary the songs... but on a whole, why make the terminally ill person be the one to make the effort to go see the celebrity? If they're thirsty enough to take cash and travel to sing for dictators, surely they can do this and write it off as a good deed?

Kind of funny that they know about these things in advance, can write 100 times the amount of songs they need for an album, but can't or don't have the ability to vary songs for an occasion like this.

It woulda been from the heart.
